A good fit for studios, clubs and dedicated home pole rooms, especially in the US, where you want solid brass or stainless steel on a sturdy stage. Not the one for renters or anyone who needs to pack their pole away.

Honest note: we haven’t owned a Platinum Stages pole, so this is a brand guide rather than a hands-on review. Everything here comes from Platinum Stages’ own specs and what we know from 25 years of poling.
Who are Platinum Stages?
Platinum Stages is a US company that has been making poles and stages for over a decade. They’re best known for sturdy stage poles and permanent poles in real stainless steel and genuine brass, and they sell to homes, studios and clubs. They also sell aerial kit, grip aids, lighting and dancewear.
The Platinum Stage explained
The Platinum Stage is a 4ft by 4ft steel-framed platform, 1ft tall, with a one-piece pole that switches between spin and static. You choose a 7ft or 8ft pole, in polished stainless steel or brass.
Check your height: because the stage adds a foot, you’ll need about 8.5ft of clearance for the 7ft pole and 9.5ft for the 8ft pole.
It’s not portable. Platinum Stages say it takes time to assemble and isn’t easy to move once it’s up. If you want a pole you can pack away or take outside, look at the X-Pole X-STAGE or the Lupit Pole Stage instead.
Stainless steel or brass?
- Stainless steel is hard-wearing and suits people with nickel allergies. Some find it a little less grippy than chrome.
- Brass is grippy and warm, and gets grippier as the room heats up. It needs regular polishing to keep it looking good.

Buying from the UK or Europe
Platinum Stages is based in the US, so shipping a heavy stage across the Atlantic can add a lot to the cost, and import charges may apply. For a freestanding pole closer to home, X-Pole (UK) and Lupit Pole (Slovenia) both make stage poles. Compare freestanding stage poles.
