How do you clean Pleasers?

Wipe them after every session with a soft microfibre cloth and warm water, add a drop of mild soap for sticky grip, then buff them dry. That’s the routine Pleaser itself recommends. Most damage comes from harsh cleaners like nail polish remover, not from dirt.

How do I clean each finish?

It depends on the finish, so check what your heels are made of first. This table is based on Pleaser’s own care guides:

FinishClean withNever use
Patent (shiny)Damp microfibre cloth, a drop of mild soap for grip residue, then buff dryAcetone, rubbing alcohol, bleach, ammonia glass cleaner
Clear with sealed glitterDamp microfibre cloth and mild soapScouring pads
Exposed glitterA dry, soft cosmetic brushA wet cloth or alcohol wipes
ChromeDry microfibre cloth; a damp corner for sticky marks, then buff dryAcetone, paper towels, metal polish
HolographicLukewarm water with a drop of dish soap, wipe and dry straight awayHeat guns, hot hairdryers, thinners

From Pleaser’s care guides for patent, glitter, chrome and holographic heels, checked October 2026.

How do I get grip aid off my Pleasers?

Wipe it off the same day. Pleaser warns that leaving grip aids on for days attracts dirt and creates sticky patches. Use a microfibre cloth with warm water and a drop of mild, lotion-free liquid soap, wipe again with a clean damp cloth, then buff dry.

How do I get scuffs off Pleasers?

For small scuffs on patent, buff with a tiny amount of mineral oil or a patent cleaner on a soft cloth, in small circles. Pleaser suggests this for minor scuffs and dull spots. Deep scratches in clear platforms won’t buff out, which is why many dancers wear shoe protectors for floorwork.

What should I never use on Pleasers?

Don’t useWhy
Acetone (nail polish remover)Dissolves the protective topcoat on chrome and can cloud patent
Rubbing alcohol or bleachCan leave cloudy, matte patches on patent
Ammonia glass cleanerCan dry out patent coatings over time
Scouring pads, stiff brushes, paper towelsLeave tiny scratches
Heat guns or hot hairdryersCan damage holographic and patent finishes

Do shoe protectors help?

Yes, especially for floorwork. Pleaser recommends reusable covers over the toe area during rehearsals. UK pole shop Pole Junkie sells protectors from Pleaser (£12 to £14), Hella Heels (£15) and Lunalae (£18), in different heel heights and sizes, so buy the size that matches your heels.

How should I store Pleasers?

  • One bag per pair: keep each pair in its own breathable fabric bag. Patent shoes can stick together or transfer colour if they touch.
  • Keep boots upright: use boot shapers or rolled tissue paper in the legs.
  • Cool, dry and dark: heat, like a hot car boot, softens patent coatings, and extreme cold can crack them. Keep them out of direct sunlight.
  • Let them air: unzip boots fully after class and let them dry naturally.
  • Keep holographic heels away from dark leather and rubber, which can stain them.

How do I know when my Pleasers need replacing?

Check them before every session. Stop wearing them if the heel feels loose or wobbly, the sole is coming away, or a strap or zip won’t fasten securely. Ready for a new pair? See where to buy Pleasers in the UK and our Pleaser size guide.

Pleaser care FAQs

How do you clean Pleaser heels?

Wipe them after each session with a microfibre cloth and warm water, add a drop of mild soap for sticky grip, then buff dry. Pleaser recommends this for patent and most other finishes.

Can I use nail polish remover on Pleasers?

No. Pleaser warns that acetone dissolves the protective topcoat on chrome and can leave cloudy patches on patent.

How do you get scuffs off patent Pleasers?

Buff the scuff with a tiny amount of mineral oil or a patent cleaner on a soft cloth, in small circles.

How do you clean glitter Pleasers?

Glitter sealed inside a clear platform can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild soap. For exposed glitter, use a dry soft brush and never a wet cloth.

How should I store Pleasers?

In separate breathable bags, somewhere cool, dry and out of sunlight. Use boot shapers or tissue paper to keep boots upright.
